Conference, 8 and 9 September 2010: 'Biodiversity in a changing world'

Under the Belgian Presidency of the European Union, the Flemish Ministry of Environment, Nature and Energy, in cooperation with the European Commission and the other Belgian Ministries of Environment, will be hosting this conference on biodiversity post-2010 on 8 and 9 September 2010 in Ghent, Belgium.
Under the Belgian Presidency of the European Union, the Flemish Ministry of Environment, Nature and Energy, in cooperation with the European Commission and the other Belgian Ministries of Environment, will be hosting this conference on biodiversity post-2010 on 8 and 9 September 2010 in Ghent, Belgium

The main objective of the conference is to feed into the preparation of an EU biodiversity strategy for the post-2010 period and to contribute to the EU’s position in the international negotiations on a global biodiversity policy. The conference will conclude with a policy message for the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity taking place in October 2010 in Nagoya, Japan.  More information is available on the Belgian Presidency website.  follow the links below.
Programme
Registration is invited from representatives of local, regional and national governments, policy makers, members of the European institutions, NGOs and the private sector, as well as scientists and other relevant stakeholders.

Conference information and call for speakers from the Flemish Land Agency (VLM), a member of PURPLE.

During the Belgian EU Presidency in the second half of 2010, various meetings and conferences on different aspects of open green spaces and the 2010 Biodiversity target are planned. The Flemish Land Agency (VLM) is organising a conference on the development of open space and the value of green investments on 12 and 13 October 2010 in Bruges. Several local, regional and international partners and organisations will cooperate in the organisation of the conference.

 If you are an expert in the field of development of open space and green investments and you are willing to share your experience and expertise with an highly motivated, professional audience, please do not hesitate to submit your session proposal.
