Cities of Tomorrow
A report, produced in 2011 by the European Commission’s DG REGIO at the request of then Commissioner Johannes Hahn in the wider context of the debate on the future of European regional policy. The report looked at how regional policy might support towns and cities to tackle the challenges of the future and considered the development of a vision for possible models for “cities and towns of tomorrow”.
There are numerous references within the report to the rural-urban interface (Peri-urban) and issues particular to them.
